Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the virtues of family football scholarships and community service. His first family is that his father was the youngest of the nine children raised by Eufala through Lucious Selmon. Another reason for his football career was that Selmon is the youngest of three brothers to play with Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. The year 1973 was the first time Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy being the starting player. Also, they won two national championships. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975. He was also selected as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in education. Fourth service In the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. After graduation, he landed in Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers was all-pro three times and started an entrepreneurial career. The first job he had was an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He was a member on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of ten outstanding young people throughout the United States. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as an athlete, was captain of his team during the season of 1975. He joined University of South Florida in 1993, as Associate Director of Sports. In 1988, he was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
