LeBron Raymone James Sr. born on December 30, 1984, is an American professional basketball player who represents the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). Nicknamed King James he is widely thought of as one of the most successful basketball players ever and is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player in history. James won two Olympic golds and four NBA championships. James is the holder of the most number of points scored in the post-season. He is second in overall career score and 7th the most assists in his career. James is a member of 18 NBA All-Stars, 18 All NBA Teams and five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections. He was the third player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of those were consecutive from the year 2011 until 2018. James was chosen to be part of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. James became the first NBA player with 10,000 points, 10 rebounds and an assists in 2022. James played basketball for St. Vincent St. Mary High School within his home town from Akron Ohio and was heavily in the news media as a future NBA superstar. He was in the process of becoming a professional and was selected as the highest choice from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Draft of 2003. Following his selection as 2004's NBA Rookie Of The Year, he rapidly established himself as a premier player in the NBA winning the NBA's MVP Award both in 2009 and 2010. James was a free agency in 2010 after failing to win championships with Cleveland. The decision to quit Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on The Decision, a popular television show The Decision, is considered one of the controversial free-agent actions in sports history.
